Starting a business is never easy, especially when juggling work, responsibilities, and a dream that keeps calling you forward. I launched Legacy Equity Estates, LLC without outside funding, a business partner, or experience in the real estate industry—just a vision to build generational wealth and a strong desire to learn as I go.
This blog series is where I’ll document the process: step-by-step, transparent, and beginner-friendly. Whether you're starting a real estate business too, or exploring your first LLC, I hope my journey gives you inspiration and direction.
🧱 Laying the Foundation: Creating My LLC
The very first step was registering my LLC. After brainstorming names that felt powerful and personal, I landed on Legacy Equity Estates. It reflects what I’m building—not just financial wealth, but a legacy of ownership and opportunity.
Filing the paperwork and getting officially registered was a milestone I’ll never forget. It made the dream feel real and gave me the structure I needed to move forward.
🔑 Getting Legit: Business Numbers and Accounts
Once the LLC was official, I moved on to the core essentials for any serious business:
I applied for my EIN (Employer Identification Number) so I could pay taxes, open business accounts, and operate legally.
Then, I requested a D-U-N-S Number, which helps build business credit and opens the door to future funding opportunities like grants and loans.
I opened a business checking account to keep personal and business finances separate. This is one of the first things lenders and grant agencies look for.
These three steps—LLC, EIN, and a business account—created the backbone of my company.
🧠 Learning As I Go: Research, Resources & Mindset
Since launching, I’ve been spending time researching:
How to build business credit
What documents are required for grants and funding
Ways to grow a real estate portfolio from the ground up
Content ideas for this blog and educational resources to share
I’ve also been building my online presence with a website, business email, and blog platform—because I want everything about my brand to feel professional, accessible, and real.
📌 What’s Coming Next
These are the key goals I’m currently working on:
Completing my business credit profile and monitoring tools
Finding and applying for real estate and small business grants
Posting helpful content on Real Estate Tips, Building Wealth, House Hacking, LLC & Business Tips, and Grants & Funding
Networking with other entrepreneurs and real estate professionals
💬 Final Thoughts
If you're standing at the beginning of your journey, unsure of where to start, know that you’re not alone. You don’t need thousands of dollars or a team of experts. You just need clarity, consistency, and courage.

Thank you for being here. This is only the beginning.
